About Dreams Take Flight
Founded by a small group of Air Canada employees in 1989, Dreams Take Flight has since grown to eight chapters across Canada, making magical dreams come true for thousands of children each year. Every year, more than 1,000 children from challenging backgrounds—including those facing illness, financial hardship, or mental and social adversity, embark on a one-day life-changing trip to “The Happiest Place on Earth.” These trips provide fond memories, immense joy and a new perspective toward the challenges they face in the future.
Where Your Support Goes
Dreams Take Flight is a 100% volunteer-run organization. Over 92% of every dollar goes directly toward the children’s experience. Air Canada donates the aircraft, but the rest is paid through fundraising and generous donations that help cover:
- Aircraft fuel, catering, and ground transportation costs.
- Park tickets, meals, and beverages.
- Clothing and supplies for the day.
- Plus, many other trip enhancements and surprises!
